Your First Orthodontic Visit
Complimentary Consultation
At your first visit to our office, diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. Diagnostic records typically taken at your first visit include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, photos of the patient’s face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to determine what your orthodontic needs are and to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient.
After the Dr. Harrison has evaluated your records, we will review these with you and discuss your treatment in detail, including any treatment options, the cost, and the anticipated length of treatment.

Regular Appointments
The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes about one hour. Remember, there are no shots or needles involved and it is relatively painless! You’ll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for adjustments, which take 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only, unless of course you have an emergency. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
Payment & Office Policies
Cost
Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in the overall dental, medical, and psychological well being of children and adults. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s problem so fees may vary from one patient to the next. Before treatment begins we will discuss the fee with you and the payment options which we offer. We are sensitive to the financial considerations that people have and we will work out a financial arrangement that works for your budget. We also accept assignment from your insurance company and we will gladly fill out and file the necessary paper work. We do our best to keep financial considerations from being an obstacle to obtaining such an important health service as orthodontic treatment!
Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
If full payment is made (by cash or check) at the onset of treatment, we will offer a courtesy fee reduction. (If you have insurance, we will offer a courtesy fee reduction for full payment made of your portion of the fee that will not be covered by insurance.)
To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
For your convenience, we accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
Insurance
If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available before treatment is started. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
